The Sports Clubs Group X Reminders and Class Descriptions:
Group X Reminders:
-Just a reminder, for hygiene purposes, we do require that you always have a towel with you when participating in any of our Group X Classes. Please cover the blue mats, steps or the floor with your towel.
-Please do not bring any drinks into the Group X Room with the exception of covered water bottles.
-For Yoga Classes, we recommend that you bring your own Yoga Mat. Yoga Mats can be purchased at Target or Walmart. We also recommend you bring a towel or blanket for your Yoga cool down. The Group X Room mats are not safe for Yoga use.
-Please turn off all cell phones and pagers during classes.
-Please use appropriate deodorant and try not to apply heavy perfumes or colognes before classes. J
-We are always interested in adding more classes. All we need are willing participants! Drop off your written suggestions at the front desk. Please make your suggestions attention to: “Jonni”.

Class Descriptions:
BASIC TRAINING: This cross training approach to exercise incorporates the various styles and training principles used in boot camp, sports conditioning, boxing, kickboxing, and martial arts. Train your body and mind! All levels welcome.
BODY SCULPT: This barbell based class brings the weight room into the Group X room. Sculpt your muscles! All levels of fitness welcome!
BOOT CAMP: Intense interval training class incorporating cardiovascular drills and strength training. High paced class may use stations, equipments, and boot camp like drills.
CARDIO HI/LOW : Energetic floor routines based on instructors repertoire of traditional high/low impact aerobics and dance moves! Styles will vary and modifications will be shown for various fitness levels.
CORE Mania: Targets the abdomen and your lower back muscles known as your core. Uses body resistance exercises, balance exercises and fit balls to improve posture and create a strong center.
GROUP POWER: Your hour of power! This 60 minute barbell class strengthens all major muscle groups in a motivating group environment. Simple, athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls are appropriate for all ages and fitness levels.
JUNIOR BOXING: For kids 6 to 16! Please call Oneman @ 896-1955 for details. $45 a month.
IAIDO KATANA :Traditional Japanese sword class. Instructor permission required. Please call Oneman @ 896-1955 for details.
INTERVALS: A great cross training class alternating short, fast burst of intense cardiovascular exercises and muscle endurance training exercises using various GX equipment. All levels welcome!
KARATE: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes for all ages starting at 6 years of age. $45 a month for members, $55 for non-members.
KICKBOXING: This sport specific class combines traditional boxing and kickboxing techniques to reduce overall body fat, increase strength and improve endurance. Uses punches, kicks, combinations, footwork, jump rope, agility and speed work to keep you in peak condition - Jab, Cross, Hook, Uppercut!
NIA: A unique blend of dance, movement, yoga and martial arts originally known as non-impact aerobics. This gentle class offers a dance/fitness experience while improving both cardio & muscular endurance. No experience necessary! All shapes & sizes welcome.
PILATES MATWORK: Gentle exercises based on the Joseph Pilates Method of working from the inside out. This alternative form of exercise builds strength, improves flexibility and increases muscle definition through concentrated movements, body control, alignment and the use of breath. All levels welcome.
POWER PACE: Known in the fitness industry as one of the best ‘fat burning’ classes around…our studio cycling classes provide the pace, music and motivation needed for the ride of your life! Appropriate for all fitness levels.
STEP: Basic, step (platform) choreography combined with proper step techniques appropriate for all fitness levels.
STEP CHALLENGE: More complicated, intricate choreography for the advanced stepper!
STEP & PUMP: A great step aerobic workout followed by a segment of strength training. Tools such as hand weights, tubing, and body bars will be used to “pump you up”!
STEP & STRENGTH: An hour alternating high power, but basic step aerobic combinations and strength training. Tools such as hand weights, tubing, and body bars sculpt muscles alternating with a great fat burning workout on the step.
STRENGTH: Upper Body, Lower Body & Total Body: Group strength training class works all major muscle groups - chest, back, shoulders, biceps, triceps, legs, and core - using weights, barbells, tubing and body resistance. Choose from upper, lower or total body! Appropriate for all ages and fitness levels.
TODDLER TIME : Exercise should be fun for everyone! Designed for children ages 15 months - 6 years old. 30 minutes of fun!
TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING (TBC): This total body approach to exercise incorporates endurance training, strength and flexibility segments using traditional teaching styles for a complete, total body workout. All levels welcome.
X-BIKE: A new generation of studio cycling…Ride off the flat road and onto the trails! Using interval training & motivational music, you’ll swoop, chill, pump and climb bringing your ‘outdoor attitude’ indoors!
YOGA: Practice yoga at your level…this multi-level class makes room for the beginning yoga student as well as the more advanced. Instructors vary their approach by incorporating various asanas and styles from the many schools of yoga.
YOGA 201: A class incorporating poses of a higher level of difficulty than our basic Yoga offers.
YOGALATES: Fusion of Yoga postures and Pilates based movements. Gently improve core strength, flexibility, and muscular stature.
